About Us

Dr. James R. Stone, D.D.S. has been serving children in Albemarle and its surrounding counties for over 30 years. He and his wife of 36 years, Barbara, have three wonderful children. He is family oriented and raised his children to be community and educationally minded.

Dr. Stone is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southeastern Pediatric Dental Society, and the Virginia Pediatric Dental Society. In addition, Dr. Stone served as President of the Charlottesville Albemarle Dental Society and the Albemarle Rotary Club.

Dr. Stone received his Pediatric training at the University of North Carolina, acclaimed as one of the nation’s outstanding dental schools for dental education and research. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Hunley for two years in Guam. He was one of three dentists on board serving twelve hundred men.

Dr. Stone is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). All members of our staff are trained in Basic Life Support (BLS) and required to keep their certification active.

Dr. Stone and his wife, Barbara, believe in giving back to the community. For over 30 years they have volunteered and provided home care education in our communities’ schools, educating children on how to properly care for their teeth.
