First Visits

Everyone reacts differently to going to the dentist. We want all of our patients to feel comfortable and have a good experience. Our office surroundings are designed to put our patients at ease and are child friendly. We do our best to develop good rapport and build a relationship of trust.

If your child does not have any pathology (infection) and the visit does not require treatment, you may accompany your child into the treatment room. Keep in mind that this is a treatment room and we strive to minimize disruption as much as possible. Please do not be offended if we need to ask you to wait in our reception area. This decision is based on Dr. Stone’s judgment of what is best for all patients. Our experience has shown that a child’s behavior is better if the parent is not present during an exam or treatment. Throughout the examination, your child will receive our undivided attention and we will explain things in non-threatening terms. Once Dr. Stone completes his examination, he will have you join your child and will discuss the results of the exam and a treatment plan, if needed. At this time we encourage you to raise any questions or concerns that you may have.

Preventative Check Ups

Because many dental problems can be avoided, we cannot emphasis strongly enough the importance of six month recare appointments. These appointments ensure early detection of potential problems; providing you the opportunity to get treatment before it becomes painful or seriously infected (resulting in the loss of the tooth/teeth). Most dental benefit plans cover six month recare visits (please check your policy for specific coverage of your plan).

Before leaving the office, patients will want to pick a prize from our treasure chest and enter our monthly drawing for a special give away!
